Together to honour the historical significance of the protection, promotion and appreciation of the Verace Pizza Napoletana [True Neapolitan Pizza]
A special year for AVPN as it celebrates its 40th anniversary. From Saturday 29 June to Wednesday 3 July, they will kick off a journey of taste, history and culture of the product that best personifies the Mediterranean Diet. All this in the centre of its hometown, at the headquarters of the “Verace Pizza Napoletana” Association in Capodimonte, the temple of pizza in Naples and the world.
“The 40th anniversary of AVPN”, emphasises the Association’s Chairman, Antonio Pace, “means 40 years of culture, protecting traditions and reaching new boundaries that have helped make true Neapolitan pizza a global phenomenon. An exciting result, to say the least, made possible by the work of our pizza makers, who have always been committed to spreading the word about this precious product, by conveying the flavours of their region, to show that the quality of pizza is independent of geographic location but originates from the passion and talent of the pizza maker. An achievement that we want to share with all our affiliates, historical friends and partners of the Association with 5 days that promise to be the biggest event dedicated to the True Neapolitan Pizza”.
Gi.Metal will be present as an international partner, supplying the professional equipment for the preparation of pizzas during the various events.
The calendar of initiatives scheduled during the event is packed, starting with “Un Abbinamento Verace” [A True Pairing], four evenings that will offer the public of enthusiasts, the press and professionals a sensory journey celebrating the marriage between Neapolitan pizza and wine.
One of the many events not to be missed is “Pizzaiolo per un giorno” [Pizza maker for a day], an experience dedicated to lovers of True Pizza who will have the opportunity to prepare this extraordinary product together with the Association’s Master Pizza Chefs.
The last day, Wednesday 3 July, will be the turn of “A True History”, the conference scheduled from 10 a.m. at the Pietrarsa National Railway Museum, to retrace the centuries-old history of true Neapolitan pizza and AVPN’s successful journey.
But there are more surprises...
AVPN comes to Mont Blanc for the record of Europe’s highest pizza. On Monday, 1 July at 3 p.m., a culinary spectacle will be staged at over 3,000 metres above sea level. This unique feat will take place in the enchanting setting of Mont Blanc, in the alpine village of Courmayeur, precisely on the highest point of the Mont Blanc Skyway cable car at Punta Helbronner, where a team of AVPN master pizza makers will kick off an authentic tribute to the culture of true Neapolitan pizza, in front of a worldwide audience, in a live broadcast presented by journalist Renato Rocco on the Association’s social channels. Gi.Metal and AVPN will be the stars of this initiative: two leaders ready to climb higher and higher.
