The eighth appointment with the column to get to know Gi.Metal in ten words is dedicated to roots: those that are firmly planted in the territory and that tell a story of commitment and responsibility towards the community that has seen the company grow.
Everything has a starting point, the place where everything becomes possible. For Gi.Metal, this place is Pistoia, the city where the company was born and grew. Gi.Metal still has its headquarters there: this is where every product is designed, created and then shipped to all parts of the world. But Pistoia is more than just a place, it is also a value.
There are organisations that, as they grow, end up losing touch with their roots, to some extent: but that’s not the Gi.Metal way. Although over time the company has opened branches in the USA and Brazil, its roots remain firmly in the Pistoia region. This is not only due to the presence of the company's headquarters, but also to its commitment to supporting events and charitable causes in Pistoia and the surrounding province.
So, from a recipe for pizza to a recipe for community: Gi.Metal has long sponsored Dynamo Camp, an island of happiness in the Pistoia mountains where minors suffering from serious or chronic illnesses can participate, free of charge and together with their families, in Recreational Therapy programmes, where the focus is on fun, beauty, and inclusion. As in 2024, this October Gi.Metal participated in the Dynamo Open Day providing the equipment to bake pizzas for the many visitors, volunteers, and supporters. In addition, it is currently involved with the Camp in further projects under development, which will soon be unveiled.

Also of note is the company's partnership with UAPC - Un Altro Parco in Città. One of the most recent initiatives in which Gi.Metal took part was precisely the 2025 edition of the event, which saw Pistoia don a green mantle and, for three days, turn into a grassy park with many initiatives, such as workshops, entertainment, and events. Following the success of the previous edition, Gi.Metal put on a free workshop for young pizza makers aged 4 to 8 in collaboration with the Osteria I Fratelli at their beautiful space in Piazza Santo Spirito.
Last but not least, there is the support that Gi.Metal has given over the years to other organisations involved in the health sector, such as the collaboration with AVIS and the donations for the local ambulance system.

Staying true to one's roots also means taking care of them. Gi.Metal's commitment to the area in which it was born thus translates into a responsibility: to contribute to making the community more alive, supportive, and attentive to the needs of all. A way to give something back to Pistoia and its territory, continuing to grow together, with the same spirit of sharing that has always been a hallmark of the company.
