From 3 to 5 June 2025, Naples will once again be the pizza capital of the world. At the Mostra d'Oltremare, the 22nd edition of the Pizzaiuolo World Championship will take place, an international event that attracts pizza makers from every corner of the globe, ready to challenge each other with passion, technique and creativity. Organised by the Associazione Pizzaiuoli Napoletani (Neapolitan Pizzaioli Association) (APN), the championship brings together hundreds of professional pizza makers from all over the world, ready to compete in different categories: from the classic Neapolitan pizza to gluten-free pizza, including pizza on a peel, freestyle pizza and many other variants.
In this context of excellence, Gi.Metal will be the official technical sponsor, confirming a now historical and consolidated presence. All competitors will in fact use Gi.Metal professional tools in their respective competitions, chosen for their reliability, quality and ability to meet the real needs of daily work in pizzerias.
For many years now, Gi.Metal has been at the side of the Associazione Pizzaiuoli Napoletani (APN), the promoter of the championship, in a strong and authentic relationship rooted in tradition and looking passionately to the future of Neapolitan pizza. A collaboration that stems from shared values: the importance of training, the love of quality and the ambition to bring Neapolitan excellence to every corner of the world. Together with APN there have been trade fairs, events and workshops, supporting the pizza makers in their journey and helping to make their art known. These occasions included Gi.Metal's presence at the recently concluded Tutto Pizza, testifying to a bond that continues to grow over time.
Most of all, the Napoli peel is the most suitable tool for those who prepare pizza in the Neapolitan style. Its characteristics make it suitable for baking a large number of pizzas in traditional wood-fired ovens capable of reaching up to 500°C. In addition, the special perforation of the peel head is designed to accommodate the gestures typical of the Neapolitan style of pizza-making. The disc of dough can in fact be spread and worked directly on the head of the peel, thus shaking off excess flour. Napoli and other Gi.Metal peels are also available in different handle lengths and head sizes to suit every type of oven and working style. There are also exclusive details such as the laser customisation of the handle, which makes each peel unique, turning it into a real calling card for the pizza maker who wields it.
In conclusion, Gi.Metal's presence at the Pizzaiuolo World Championship is not just a technical participation: it is a concrete way to support the pizza makers of today and tomorrow, working alongside APN in its mission to spread the Neapolitan pizza culture around the world, starting from the very heart of its tradition.
