Pizza by the metre and Roman pinsa symbol of the pleasure of spending time and eating together.
May 15th marks International Day of Families, established by the United Nations in 1994 to celebrate the importance of families worldwide as the foundation of our society.
And what better meeting place is there for families and friends than around a table, having lunch or dinner together?
Carefully prepared food is an extraordinary factor of unity and continuity between generations, and being together at the table an irreplaceable opportunity to share the small and great joys of life.
Of the foods most likely to create a good atmosphere at the table is, without a doubt, pizza.
A typical dish of the Italian culinary tradition, eating a pizza as a family is, still today, for many, synonymous with spending time together, a real bonding ritual.
Particularly popular pizza formats include pizza on a peel or by the metre, and Roman pinsa.
Gi.Metal's solution: a peel for every pizza
Gi.Metal has thought of a peel for each type of pizza; different solutions, all made in Italy, designed to optimise and lighten the work of professional pizza makers and home-made pizza lovers.
Pizza on a peel or by the metre and the Roman pinsa are no exception.
For these, Gi.Metal has created an ad hoc line of products, providing an effective, high-tech solution for pizza makers specialising in different pizza formats.
Roman pinsa peel
To adapt to the characteristics of the Roman pinsa, Gi.Metal has developed a specificpeel where the wood commonly used for this type of pizza peel is replaced by a light, solid, durable and certainly morehygienic material such as anodised aluminium.
The peel is also available in a perforated version, specially designed to reduce friction, facilitate the release of flour, and make it less tiring to use.
The special arrangement of the holes makes the peel more stable, subject to less bending, and ensures optimal handling of even the heaviest pizzas.

Peel for pizza by the metre
To adapt to the characteristics of pizza by the metre, Gi.Metal has developed an additional line whereby this maxi pizza format can either be placed directly on the peel with the tool, or rolled out and topped already on the peel.
Instead of traditional wood, the choice of aluminium has made it possible to create a product that is light, solid, durable, hygienic and easy to clean.
Again, the peel is available in a perforated version, to increase the smoothness of the instrument and facilitate the release of excess flour that could otherwise burn in the oven.
