Gi.Metal in 10 words: #4 Imagination

Gi.Metal in 10 words: #4 Imagination

The fourth appointment with the column to get to know Gi.Metal in ten words takes us to where ideas are born. Where imagination and intuition merge, creating the products that carry the company's name around the world.

The best things come from a spark. An intuition full of possibilities. A vision that certainly does not come about by accident. At Gi.Metal, in fact, the imagination is not a practice in itself, but the first concrete step towards innovation. Marco D'Annibale CEO of the company, knows this well. For him, imagining means observing and listening, before inventing:

"Observation and listening allow us to identify needs and find possible solutions. Always a complicated but rewarding challenge because finding a solution means helping our customers improve in their work and this is priceless."

Each product develops from a true need, each intuition is the result of a meeting between imagination and rationality. It is not a chaotic process, but a free space where new ideas take shape through listening to the market, customers, and people. It was in this fertile ground that the Azzurra pizza peel was developed, and which has become the symbol of Gi.Metal.

A revolutionary idea, the result of the ability to imagine something that did not yet exist: a lighter, more manoeuvrable, better performing peel. Azzurra was the first to combine aesthetics and function, and became a true icon. How? Thanks to its signature light and strong anodised aluminium head and light blue tubular handle. Above all, Azzurra owes its success to the perforated surface of the peel head, which, through the shape and arrangement of the holes, releases excess flour and improves pizza baking. More than any other detail, behind Azzurra's special holes is the foresight that only comes from a well-guided imagination, capable of pushing beyond the present without ever losing sight of reality.

For Gi.Metal, imagining does not simply mean dreaming: it means seeing what does not yet exist, reaching out to the future and making it concrete. An invitation, every day, to never stop at what we already know, but to make room for continuous research and the desire to improve.
